Eucalyptus globulus is an evergreen hardwood tree native to Australia and Indonesia.
Eucalyptus is one of the tallest trees and requires a lot of water, which is why it was often used in the past to drain wetlands (and thus contain malaria), giving it the name “fever tree”.
It is not only in Australia that eucalyptus is part of the medicine chest for coughs and colds, skin problems, muscle and joint complaints.
